The Quick-Read Precision Cell microscope slide is an innovative product that utilizes precalibrated circles in the viewing chambers to accurately count cellular elements in urine sediment.
The system combines an optically clear acrylic slide and coverslip with ten separate chambers, each holding a standard volume of 6.3 µL. It can read ten processed and stained specimens at a time. Each chamber contains 18 premeasured circles that contain specific volumes of urinary sediment within its circumference. This enables convenient, rapid microscopic examination of cellular elements in each specimen.
To apply the sample to the chamber, place a drop of well-mixed sediment (using Quick-Prepâ„¢, a tube and pipette system that isolates 1mL of urine sediment for microscopic examination) into the scalloped area of a numbered chamber on the slide. Capillary action uniformly distributes sediment into the viewing chamber. Each chamber has overflow wells for excess urine to prevent cross-contamination. Individual slides and specimens can be identified by marking the appropriate numbers on the extreme left and right side of the unit with your own identifying code using a pencil or other marking device. The use of Quick-Readâ„¢ provides accuracy, uniformity and safety in the microscopic examination of urinary sediment.
